Acid Attack originally started as Metallica cover band Metallikaas. Formed by guitarists Mark Doeland and Luuk Verweij, and bassist Youri ter Steege, the band officially got the name Acid Attack in 2016.
Acid Attack started writing their own music, and started building a name for themselves in the city Gouda. The band’s music is heavily inspired by eighties metal, but takes influences from modern metal as well, creating their own unique sound.
With the addition of drummer Roel van Ellinckhuijzen at the start of 2019, the core lineup was strengthened. In 2021 the lineup was completed with vocalist Julius Kortekaas. In August of 2022 the EP Face The Past was recorded, cementing Acid Attacks debut in the music world.
With the release of the EP at the start of 2023, the band also had to part ways with Julius. The position of vocalist was filled by ex-drummer Kayleigh Lieverse in June 2023. With the current lineup, the band has been more focused than ever, making 2024 their most active year yet.
